You Need THIS On Your Website!

Having a business website has become not just an market standard but a necessity. But what exactly should you have on that site?

At HeyGoodGo, we’ve built dozens of websites for both small and larger businesses, and based on our experience, we’ve put together a list of 5 must-have elements for any website!

1. Contact Information

project planning

A phone number and email address are absolutely essential, and they should be displayed in at least three places on your site:

  • Contact Section – Consider adding a map here to show where your office or location is.
  • Header and Footer – This ensures that visitors can easily scroll to find your contact info no matter where they are on the site.

If you also communicate with clients via other channels like WhatsApp or Messenger, consider adding those options too.

Interestingly, listing a physical address is important even if you only operate online or work at the client’s location. Why? It boosts your credibility and helps make your business appear more professional and trustworthy. Additionally, clients often search for services using map tools. If you’re not there, they might just go for another pin nearby.

2. A Company Description That Sets You Apart

“Meeting customer expectations with quality services at attractive prices” – sound familiar? That’s because almost any business could use this line!

When describing your company, avoid generic phrases and filler. Instead, focus on what genuinely makes you stand out in the market. Be specific about what you do and highlight the benefits this brings to your clients.

Depending on your business, your unique selling points could include industry experience, prime location, a wide range of services, quick delivery times, or competitive pricing.

3. Services and Pricing

scalable performance

While we’re talking prices – having a services and pricing section can be incredibly helpful.

When listing prices, specify what each price includes, for example:

  • Domain hosting from just X per year
  • Certified German translations – Y per page

If your prices depend on various factors (like the complexity of the service), consider giving at least a range to help potential clients estimate costs, like:

  • House and office cleaning – from X per hour
  • Hair coloring – starting at X

Even if you decide not to display a full price list, including a clear overview of your services is crucial. It helps prevent inquiries for services you don’t offer and encourages potential clients to reach out for what you do.

4. Portfolio of Work

This one might not apply to every industry, but whenever your product or service has a visual component (e.g. in the beauty industry), it’s worth showcasing your work! For instance:

  • For a hair salon – include photos of hairstyles, colorings, or updos,
  • For a nail salon – popular colors and designs,
  • For stylists or makeup artists – example looks or makeup applications, ideally with before-and-after images.

Portfolios also work well in other industries, like remodeling services, carpentry or floral arrangements.

5. Customer Testimonials

Often overlooked but so important: customer reviews are the backbone of your online reputation. Dedicate a section to positive testimonials from satisfied clients and keep an eye on new reviews on major platforms (like Google, Facebook, etc.).
